2004 / 2005 - First Cable Stayed Bridge in the U.A.E . - Dubai

WAAGNER BIRO Gulf has completed the U.A.E's first cable stayed bridge. It crosses Sheikh Zayed Rd., next to Zabeel Park.

The bridge was erected piece-by-piece lifting pre-fabricated composite elements weighing upto 100tonnes into place during four night closures on Sheikh Zayed Road

This was achieved with minimum inconvenience to traffic on one of Dubai's main thoroughfares.

The Bridge was built as a part of a Dubai Municipality contract which involved the construction of pedestrian Bridges at Abu Hail and Al Nahda alongwith pedestrian and train bridges for Zabeel Park.

Waagner Biro Gulf executed the project as a design and build contract.
